ok so today i logged into my Gmail and noticed i had gotten an email from itunes showing my recent purchases. So i scrolled down and saw all the apps i had bought. As i reached the bottom of the list i noticed it said "iphone/ipod touch 2..0 software= $9.95"

i dont know how this can be because i got my 2.0 software from a link posted on the internet. It was the "leaked" version.

anyone else got this?

I wonder if iTunes has detected the software on your Touch and phoned the mothership. Poetic justice, if so. ;)

That means Apple's catching on all people who have a 2.0 firmware whether leaked or official!

Thats scary... OK no maybe it isnt!

I'm not saying that's the reason, but if it was, it would make an interesting story which I'm sure would be covered more widely. Curious.

Dunno if Apple could check the unlocked iPhones this way aswell....
but seemingly, it never did so!:D

P.S.: Can you actually connect an unlocked iPhone to iTunes....
Never unlocked my 1G

Ah.... yes of course. Then Im guessing Apple did have an approximate idea about what you're running but didnt do anything (for market share)

But now, its for time to tell what Apple does in this turn!

i had clicked "buy now" on friday, because i was planning on paying for it, but seeing as nothing was happening i looked for alternate sources to get it.
when i first clicked the button it gave me some error messages like "cannot connect to itunes", etc..I was snot prompted to put my password
