The Ultra slim case. The UK Apple store list the black and pink for £25 with a delivery time of 2-3 weeks.
The Sena cases website (in the USA) sell them for $30 in a range of colours (not all of them are readily available however). For those in the EU, they are doing a special offer of $10 delivery via FedEx. Even with the duty and VAT added, you are looking at no more than the Apple Store UK.

I use the Nutshell case, Its not specifically designed for the iPhone, but its one of the best cases/pouches I have had. Its not a super sung fit, but good enough. I was using it with a Gen1 iPhone and now with the 3G version.
I really like the clip as many other cases have a clip that sticks out and catches on things and breaks.
High quality leather as well.

The only problem is that then nobody see if you have a white or black iphone.
Half the fun now is knowing you have a colored iphone.

Yea, I'm liking the WalletSkin case! I just wish they had more pictures. I'd like to see it from different angles and sides. I also didn't see any reference to a place for money. It mentions 4 credit cards, but what about money? I also wonder how hard it'd be to use the iPhone in the case.

I like that Senacase with the wallet, but I think I'll wait a while ot see what additional cases emerge. On Friday, the Apple store only had a few. Today, 4 days later, there's a considerable amount of greater choices.
Here's what I'm going to get: http://www.vajacases.com/home/home_en.html

My Sena UltraSlim case just came in the mail today.
At first, I was extremely worried. The case seemed incredibly tight and my iPhone was difficult to remove or put in. After some keeping it in for an hour or so, the leather seemed to wear in a bit.
That said, this case is ridiculously good looking. The leather is top quality and the velvet inside adds a nice touch. If you don't mind getting used to the tightness of the case, I would definitely recommend checking this one out.

First off, any pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Also, is it easy to pull the phone out of it, or is it a two handed ordeal where you have to pull really hard?

The only reason I wouldn't get one now is because it takes a while for them to make the case for you. They're all made hand-made when you order them, with thousands of different personalization options. I'll probably pick up a Sena ultraslim pouch for my iPhone 3G for now and get a Vaja ivolution SP later on.

i am thinking of ordering the elega white case to match my white iphone. It is the third case i will purchase, and hopefully this one will be a keeper. I bought the incase leather case but its to bulky. then i got the krusell holster case but its not magnetic, it uses a button and i do not want to scratch it.
MICHAELSD
Jul 17, 2008, 03:08 AM
The Elega will probably be too bulky, too. It looks like it adds somewhere over double the thickness to the iPhone. The ultra-slim pouch will probably be a better idea.

Yeah. It's really too bad that the cases take 15-45 days to make, depending on which one you get. If it was under 30 I would get something from the Apple Store and return it when the Vaja came.

yes it is bulky but with the sena case i do not have to keep it in the case at all times. When i use the phone i can take it out unlike my other case.
MICHAELSD
Jul 17, 2008, 03:27 AM
You can do that with the Sena ultra-slim pouch, too. I'm the same way. I always keep mine out of my case when I actually use it, and keep it in there when it's in my pocket and anywhere else. I actually have my iPhone 3G covered in the cleaning cloths that came with my iPhones, and the box top over it to keep it from getting dust or something. Yeah...

Jul 17, 2008, 03:28 AM
i see, do you recommend the pouch over the case?
MICHAELSD
Jul 17, 2008, 03:36 AM
They'll both provide almost equal protection. Great against scratches and scuffs, but bad for dropping the iPhone. The Elega Pouch is pretty thick, and takes a lot away from how thin the iPhone usually is.

For posters who are praising the Sena Ultraslim case, please verify if you are using the first generation iPhone or the 3G. I have read excellent reviews for those using it with the original iPhone but 3G users have said the case is way too tight. Is this true or not?

Ordered Sena UltraSlim "3G" (http://www.senacases.com/Brands/iPhone-3G-Cases/APPLE-iPHONE-3G-ULTRA-SLIM-POUCH;jsessionid=0a01074e1f4370f9b88403464cbca5b8a4f7ab1986de.e3eTaxeKbh0Te34Pa38Ta38LbN50) before the release of the iPhone 3g. Very nice quality. Once I got the actual phone, though, the case was ridiculously tight, very dificult to insert and remove. I returned the case and was so unhappy with my experience I would not even consider getting another Sena product for any of my devices. It was pointed out to me in another thread that while Sena lists separate items for the original and 3G iPhones, on the Apple store site (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TQ298LL/A?fnode=home/shop_iphone/iphone_accessories/cases&mco=MzUwNzc2&p=3&s=alpha)the same case is shown as being compatible with both phones. The invoice for my order stated 3G, but the box's label did not. I'm pretty sure Sena is trying to pass off it's original product as fitting the 3G.
Ordered the Incipio Orion (http://www.myincipio.com/product/IPHONE_3G_IPH-329/Designer_iPhone_Case_for_Apple_iPhone_by_Incipio.html) on Monday and got it today. It seems to be pleather, not leather, but the colors are truer, the phone is snug but easy to insert and release, and I'm very happy with it.

Just went to Best Buy and picked up a Griffin Elan Form, I'm pretty happy with it other than the face that after 3 hours of use, I can tell that its gonna fall apart, the leather is just a sticker type deal, and its peeling away. I'm really disappointed about that, other than that, this is the best iphone case I've had in a long time, and I own the Griffin Elan Sleeve now.

That's a shame - it really is a nice looking pouch; though, the Incipio Orion that you ended up getting is a great looking one too. I hadn't seen that one before, so thanks for posting the link.

Yeah, that's what CS told me. And they're probably right. But I have really small hands and it was just too tight for me. I didn't feel comfortable using it long enough to see how much it stretched. Maybe mine was tighter than most.

I ended up ordering the Sena UltraSlim even though I know that they are passing off one case as being for the iPhone and 3G iPhone. The proof is that if you look at the picture of the 3G case, it is obviously a regular iPhone because you can see the aluminum back. Pretty lousy business in my opinion but the case looks really great so I am hoping I can somehow stretch it a bit before getting my iPhone to make it fit nicer.

i was with some friends, and i decided to go to the mall because i saw they had sena cases. i asked an employee if i could see how the ultra slim fits my phone. it is definitely tight, and he needed to help me take it out of the case haha. but i think after a couple of days it should be fine.

But my biggest fear is this: in that few days that it takes to wear the Sena case in and loosen it up, is it going to result in lots of small scratches to the back? I still have not made it to the Apple Store to see the 3G iPhone in person but I can imagine how easily a glossy black plastic surface could scratch / show marks.

I bought this for my first iPhone (http://www.pcmicrostore.com/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:10505153)
I didn't think it would fit the 3G, but it does nicely in my opinion. It is actually too loose, and I put the cleaning cloth folded up behind the phone, to keep it tight, so it doesn't slide out by accident (happened with the first phone).
I can control the volume or mute with the case closed, and open I have easy access with it in my car mount to plug into the charger and the audio jack. It's got a clip on the back that's snug and hasn't broken off like my last case.
The only thing I don't like is that the top part sometimes bends away from the earpiece and messes with the screen on/off function of the phone part. I'm considering cutting that part off, but it hasn't bothered me enough to do it.
I ride my horses and listen to music on it, and it's been pretty secure from dust. I'm sure there are more secure covers, but for the price, I'm pleased with this one. I like this phone more than the first one without the case, but I like that I can answer the phone without taking it out of something (first case was like that, and it didn't last long).

It's all soft velvet inside. All it will really do is get off some smudges when you take it out and put it in the case.

I have been buying Piel Frama cases for about five years for ipaq, pocket PC and now apple devices and they are fantastic. To date I have ordered an iPod video case, then iPod 80Gb, then a 160Gb Classic and then an iPod touch and they have nver let me down. The quality is fantastic and the service from the factory in Italy is excellent, friendly and most helpful.
I was able to order an Iphone 3Gb case about 3 weeks ago and it arrived on the 11th July at the same time as the iPhone.
Multiple colour leather as well and I think that O2 are now supplying these from the catalogue you get instore.

I like it really much. It has a real good fit (tight) and the protection is super for me. I got because when my iPhone is in my backpack or pocket etc., it would be nice to have it covered so it wouldnt get scratch'd up..
I'm not sure if it could take a fall, but I guess so. Imagine a iPod Sock (the ones from Apple) way more paddded with even more materials and satin inner, then you have a foof.

But I would say that a foof is WAY more protective than those Sena Ultra Slim Pouch though. The Sena is just a thin layer of leather around the iPhone. A Foof is like a pillow with a iPhone inside of it ;)
