Is there a way to get exact town and state on 3g gps?

After the current location finds me with the blue dot is there way i can get info on the area? I know I can when i find search results for food and stuff like that once i click on the pin, but how can I get specific information such as the town and city and zip code of where I am with the gps. I'm fairly sure there has to be a way..... then again this is the phone that doens't do mms
