I've had a good time with B+W MRC filters.

My idea of "good" is something that doesn't affect the image quality of the lens.

In Photoshop the one I use the most by far is "Gaussian Blur". It will remove noise from blank areas of the sky and tone down distracting backgrounds. I use other tools in PS maybe more that those not not technically "filters".

Circular polarizers and ND filters.

Singh-Ray's Vari-ND filter is really fun to use - pricey though. There are times I prefer using it, and other times when I just use a couple plain old ND filters.

This one has been posted here before - it was shot using a B+W 6 stop ND filter:

No such filter. Every additional surface has an effect, and even the best filters lose resolution.

Nice, I've recently been playing with a Kodak ND 4.00 100mm square filter (13 1/3 stops) to make traffic and people disappear.

Cool! Have you had any issues with color casts? I've seen some scattered comments to that effect (not about the Kodak filter, just about high-stop ND filters in general).

I love ND filters. I use a Cokin ND8 (3 stops, I think).

Its a fun affect (long exposure where you normally wouldn't)

I'm still on the first CF card, so all I've done is look at the LCD, but I'll probably do a great deal more when I get a couple of days free and that will include a pretty critical evaluation of color and contrast.

how many of you use circular polarizers and uv filters regularly
