Hello
Is it possible to use movie files with an .wvm extension in imovie?

Do you mean .wmv? If so, you can view those by installing Flip4Mac, which add the WMV codecs into QuickTime (and therefore all apps that run on top of QuickTime, including iMovie, too).

Or Perian

Alternatively (to Flip4Mac) you could use the Perian plug in which I found to be more reliable and less hassle then Flip4Mac.

It also will allow you to work with a number of common formats such as DiVX, Xvid, and Flash video.

thx
Now i can watch them. But i still can't open them in imovie, probably i have to buy and download an upgrade. I'm using this as a one time thing to help my father in law, so don't want to spent to much money on it.
