Upconverting DVD Player Suggestions

I bought a Toshiba upconverting DVD player back when upconversion was a new thing, but it has a problem playing most burned DVDs. It's a known issue with my model of player. I never really cared before because I never played burned DVDs, but my buddy has been burning me a lot of obscure stuff you can't get here in the States, and I'd like to play them in my living room, instead of just on my Mac. In additon, DVDs made with iMovie don't play either, which is a bummer.

So I want another player. Any suggestions? My only real requirement is that it has HDMI out (which is why I'm asking about upconverting players - my TV does a good job of upconverting a 480 signal anyway), and will play a variety of burned DVD content. It's not enough that the box says it's compatible with DVD-R, RW, etc...my Toshiba said that too. I'm looking for suggestions from people that play lots of burned content on their players.
