i would love oregon trail. although frogger would have better "control" scheme if done properly.

You have killed a buffalo that weighs 998 pounds, but you are only able to carry 100 pounds. (ahhh, oregon trail)

I remember playing Oregon Trail back in Elementary School! I wouldn't want them to really change the game though, just keep it basic like the other one. I would NOT want to see Frogger though, they have remade and redone that game so many times I could blow my brains out. hah

Oregon Trail would be pretty dang awesome because you could keep a continuous game going, leave it, come back, and your daughter Betsy is sick/dies. It's like it would keep up with your normal day-to-day.

Another game that would be awesome like that would be SimCity. You could keep building your city, keep making $, and when you get back, you have a protest going on with your really high taxes.

And5555: Spore should do that pretty well, it should be awesome.

I have no further comments available. I've just come down with a case of dysentery.

While we're on the subject of the classics. Would and old school version of sim city be a possibility?

Sure is, Maxis created Sim City, and EA bought Maxis. Since EA is making a iPhone App push, it is diffidently possible.

How do we let some developers know about new apps we want like Oregon Trail, Frogger, and Sim City? Cause if we can we should.:)

The big problem with wanting specific games like this is that letting "developers" know isn't good enough; you need to let the companies that own those games know.

I could go out and mimic those games - maybe even make them 10x better, but without the copyright, I can't really put it in the AppStore.

The companies behind such games have their own developers, their own code base, and their own initiatives; you would need to contact them. If they got enough interest to make the option financially rewarding, they'd probably do it.

I gotta ask.....what's Oregon Trail about, and what makes it so special??

I was walking through Target with my wife, and they were selling a pc copy of the game, and she started talking about how she remembered playing it when she was in school. I had never heard of this game before she said that, but I must say after her reaction, and then reading this thread, I'm intrigued.

It is an early 80s game. To tell you the truth, it is alittle boring because of how easy it is. I am sure that most people on here want it to bring back memories and just have an easy game.

Its basically like history. You try your luck on the Trail to get to the West coast. You have to shoot for food and go thru the weather like they did. Along with some more various stuff.
