Does QuickTime Pro record streaming video?

I'm considering buying QuickTime Pro. Can it be used to record streaming video as QuickTime movies?
 
I don't believe so, but movies online in the quicktime format will be downloadable. You don't necessarily see it a lot but sometimes. I could be wrong about the recording video part, however.
