app request: quickly turn 3G off/on

i get very strong EDGE signal at home, but very weak 3G. so at home i like to keep my phone on EDGE (have 3G turned off in the preferences) and when i leave i would like to have 3G back on. right now its a bunch of taps (settings > general > network > enable 3G) and i was wondering if there is an app/someone could make an app that does this with basically one click.

The SDK prohibits applications to change system preferences.

Applications are sand-boxed, and this has been discussed a couple of times previous to this thread.

f I'm not mistaken that can only be done through jailbraking.

Apparently apps via the SDK cannot tamper with any hardware.
