Can I "hacktivate" my 1st Gen iPhone with 2.0?

I'm getting a used 1st Gen iPhone soon and I wanna use an AT&T Go-Phone sim. Since I'm using the supported carrier, I just need to "hacktivate" the phone so I can use the unsupported plan. Does anyone know if I can do this without "unlocking" the phone. I'd rather not mess with the bootloader if I can help it. I don't wanna end up with a brick. Thanks!

Yes, you can use pwnagetool to only jailbreak/hacktivate, but not unlock, if you go into expert mode and disable unlock etc.
