To be honest, i'm not really digging it. I do like the tabs, but the homepage and wall are pretty messed up to me.
Hopefully i'm not the only loser that's on facebook here (i highly doubt i am:D)

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5A347 Safari/525.20)
I honestly haven't checked it out yet. I've been using facebook on my iPhone sO much that I rarely get on it with a desktop any more. I'll have to take a look now that you mention it.

It should be changing to that officially very soon.

The devs said that it will be a - I guess the word would be 'gradual' - release, meaning not everyone will see it straightaway - but it'll definitely be fully in over the next few days/weeks. It was officially released Sunday I think...
I just noticed the change about 10 minutes ago.
From my first few minutes of use - it feels a little too wide and empty to me - kind of like minimalist gone wrong or something... but I guess it may grow on me...

Maybe this is why I haven't been able to upload any pictures for the past hour? But I haven't attempted the new one yet.
EDIT: The page layout is too wide and confusing after using it for a few minutes, if they made it more like the web app for the iPhone in means of tabs then it would be a little better, but it will take me some getting used to, but as of right now, I don't like it. I hate the new wall setup, and now I can't get back to the old version.

could've just made it a little more compact at least...

I like it... well kind of.
It's different, lets put it that way.
I find it's a lot more minimalistic, and open.
I haven't found it to be all that better though, it's just more uniform, page by page.

I'm finding it pretty confusing... a lot of stuff isn't showing up in my profile, and it completely dis-organized my photos (wrong order).

I'm ALL for change, and I like some of the ideas being implemented (tabs, applications being more hidden)...
...but overall I'm not loving it.
And no, I'm not unhappy just because some things were switched around. That's fine, if it ultimately works for the better. However, many features I used often and that were easily accessible before, I now have to scroll down in order to see, which is a drag. There's no way to rearrange the homescreen at the moment, but hopefully that's something they can allow in the final version.
The excessive amount of white space just looks....wrong. And many of the features just don't have optimal placement, in my opinion. In an effort to make things more simplified and streamlined, it "feels" more confusing than ever.
But I'm going to use the new version for a while (I see you can switch back to old version in the corner, at least), and see if I can get used to it. If not, I'll probably be joining the petitions to give us our old Facebook back...

I guess the new layout fits better for different screen sizes (although, the old "narrow" design was fitting most of the screen sizes anyway).
I'm not sure yet. I guess it will grow on me but I'm so familiar with the old design, it feels a little bit like starting over again. And what's up with the Wall coming up first?

I kinda prefer the old layout.
Soon as I get myself an iPhone I'll just be dealing with Facebook through that fancy free app. Ho hum.

The app is not good. You couldn't even write on people's walls until the update that came out today. The iphone.facebook.com (http://iphone.facebook.com/) site still exists and is still better than the app.

Meh. Facebook has been going down hill ever since it opened its doors to everyone. This doesn't suprise me. Their old design was simple. This one just seems more messy and unorganized.

hasn't rolled out to mine yet, but i will probably be ok with it. its still 100x better than myspace, and i dont mind the tabs.. helps with organization, especially with people that are idiots and have a gazillion apps etc. i dont access from a phone, i cant even figure out poking from my mobile device... im not an iphone user.

It's definitely too spaced out (wide and white). It also manages to make info much harder to find. Instead of everything being on one page that you can scroll through, you need to navigate to a button and click then navigate.

Same. The new one is confusing and visually unappealing. Don't try to fix what isn't broken.

Initially I agreed with you, but since the update, the app is better than the iphone site, IMO. The updated app is really quite good.

I just can't get used to this new look. I think that a better way for them to have gone would have been to make it tabs, but not as they did here. Tabs more like how they are on the web-app site would have been better. I think that a four-tab setup would have been the right way to go when viewing somebody's profile, but they could have done it much better than how they have. They should have made the tabs like this:
-An "About" tab, which includes the Basic Info, Personal Info, and Education & Work Info. --very similar to the first tab on the web-app
-A "Social" tab, which would include the mini-feed, the wall, the friends-by-network box, groups, pages boxes, and up to 5 user-added applications
-A "Photos & Video" tab, which would basically be the photos and video applications now, but done in a way that makes it easier to view them.
-An "Applications" tab, which would be any applications that the user wishes to add after they have 5 on the social tab page. This would make it much easier to unclutter profiles but still allow people to have their 5 main applications in the social tab. But if a user had 5 or fewer applications, then this tab would disappear.
Along with these tabs, the info that would be on every tab would be the user's name, status, and profile picture on top of every page. I feel that by making it with these tabs, but keeping the same general website setup as is now, they would be able to improve the site, without completely changing it. This change could have been done with only a minor facelift to the site, something that would make this change a lot smoother.
Any comments to my suggestions would be appreciated.

Caution!!!! I seemed to have run into a really bad bug! I was surfing some pictures on new.facebook, and when i tried to return to my homepage I was stuck on a constant loop of loading www.facebook.com and then immediately www.new.facebook.com. Firefox describes it as such
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
I deleted ALL cookies and cache and used different browsers. It seems that the option to view new.facebook is saved onto my facebook account. So no matter where I go I'm going to get the same loop and now I'm facebookless on any computer. I still have my iPhone tho. :-/

Don't cry. It'll get fixed. ;)
The only thing that bothers me is, believe it or not, the not-so-visible apps. They used to be in your face, but now they're a bit hidden away. It's good for people like me who don't have many apps, but if your friend has them on their site, s/he probably wants you to see them. Sometimes, I'm curious as well, so I actually look at the apps, and it's fine.

The design is sort of boring but I don't have major problems with it yet. I just got it to work because before it wouldn't take me to a different page when i clicked that link. I don't like the wall layout and merging the news feed with the wall is annoying, so I just hit the "posts by others" filter... Beyond that I haven't really done much.

I like it. Applications have been moved to a separate tab that your browser doesn't load unless you want it to. I also like the wider look - doesn't require so much scrolling. The new wall is nice too. It actually looks like it's important, instead of just being another little box in a myriad of them, cluttered by other boxes and applications above and below the wall.

I am pretty sure if it looks really fugly, the server you are on, isn't completely up to date yet.
I am near Pittsburgh, I don't have the new FB yet, however all of my Pittsburgh friends do, that confused the hell out of me at first. However, after seeing the link, It makes sense, whatever server my profile is stored on isn't upgraded yet lol. Things are off the page, and ads are everywhere.
The only thing I don't like ATM is that the wall is combined with the updates, so its a little confusing.

It's an improvement but it's still not exactly good. On my iPhone 3G I find it slow, and somewhat pointless. And it annoyed me a little to notice that it was posting things to my feed, like "bigandy installed Facebook for his iPhone". I don't want these things.
I just hope it posts one saying "bigandy removed Facebook for his iPhone".

Meh... It's ok I guess. Right now I find it a little weird but I'm giving myself time to adjust to it. I think that there's too much white space though which makes it seem too blank but maybe it'll grow on me. I also don't like how all of the apps disappeared and you have to reload them or is that just me?

I think it's complete garbage. It all blends together too much. The wall with the mini-feed is an example. Also, I don't like how my apps just kinda jumped into an unknown cave.
I used this explanation before: It looks like the owner of Facebook took the entire webpage, threw it up in the air, and let it come crashing down onto the floor. Everything looks the same, except its all in different places now. Visually, it's a broken webpage.

I agree, but I can understand why they're doing it. Some of my friend's pages where just rediculously huge; they installed every frickin' application out there!! They have no design sense and chucked everything on.

Same here. I really love that I don't have to trawl through people's applications, that litter their profiles, to get to their walls which is all I'm really interested in. I think if I had to go back to the old version now, I'd be really frustrated with it.

Hate it. If they resolved these issues:
Changed the wall so you can set a default preference (ie: show a mixture of yours and other peoples feeds, or just other peoples, or just your own)
Actually moved ALL the applications onto the boxes tab - not just SOME
It would be better than the old Facebook, IMO.
But since these are the 2 main things I use (Wall) and find annoying (Applications - I hate them) - until these are fixed, it will be considered worse than the 'old' Facebook, to me.
I was expecting an iPhone-style interface.

It's ok. We'll all get used to it and grow to forget the old. Then, in 6 months time we'll look back at the old with disdain. hehe.
It's too wide for my iBook screen. :( I know a 1024x768 screen is small these days, and I know a fair few websites that are too wide, but the thing that annoys me about it is there's loads of wasted space and it's badly designed. Surely the left column could compress if you made the window narrower, rather than at the moment, it just hides the more important right column. If it was just built as a proper flexible layout it would be fine.
Apart from that, I don't mind it – it's hard to find my way around at the moment but I imagine I'll get used to it, and it's great to hide everyone's annoying applications. :D
