plastic backplate for 1st gen iPhone?

just wondering if they make/sell plastic back plate for 1st gen iPhone ?

I notice when I clean my iPhone with a sham cloth I will drop all my signal or have no service..seems like the metal backplate interferes with signals.. No wonder they when with plastic on 3g iPhone ..
