I just receive a replacement iPhone 2G for one that broke but they made me activate it in the Apple store. It has never been used and is running version 1.1.4. I have a new 3G so I don't need this phone, but a friend wanted to buy it that is on another network. It is possible to "unactivate it" so it can be unlocked? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Restore it with the default 2.0 or 1.1.4 firmware. And then make a custom firmware with Pwnage 2.0 and follow its steps to do so. Make sure your friend has a GSM provider.
