You either have to put the file in a C++ project (File > New Project...) or use g++ from the command line.

pffft that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, and you can't even choose to make a project for a CLI App, so much for ease of use. In the words of comic book guy: "worst IDE ever".

doh!!! looking in the wrong place :o but the project thing is still dumb IMHO
