I just received my brand new 2.5 GHz Macbook Pro yesterday, but started having problems with it immediately. When I first tried to boot it up, it would show the apple, then it would go to a black screen and stay there. I finally got it started using the last troubleshooting tip in the manual; I had to reset the RAM parameters or something by holding down command, P, R and the power button.
Since then, over the last day, I've had the Macbook shut down for no reason at least 4 or 5 times. Also, it has weird problems starting up; I have to hold down the power button until I get a blinking light on the front.
I installed a significantly large OS update last night, and so far it hasn't randomly shut down, but it did freeze up pretty badly once, and I'm still having the weird startup problem.
Someone please help me with this bizarre issue; I want to enjoy my new computer!

There are still Apple specialists. Granted, you'll be without a computer but this really sounds like a hardware problem and you should send it in sooner rather than later.

Took a lot of hold time but I just spoke with an Apple specialist, and they're going to send me a new computer :)

just call apple usa up, and give em your serial, say you've had a lot of problems and that you want a replacement. They will send you a box to ship the old one back on, then send you a new one. make sure its within the 14 days of the macbook pro being received.
