I had the Revo for the original iPhone and loved it. Tonight I got an e-mail from iSkin saying that the 3G version is now available. I just thought I'd pass the link on for a very good case. (I have no affiliation with iSkin, just have been VERY impressed with their product.)

Ya I got the email a bit ago too. I also loved the iSkin revo I had on my first iPhone. I dropped my iPhone many times and not a single scratch or dent. Also love the screen protector they include with it, smudges annoy me :P

Just ordered one -- color = Ozone ~

PS: I never used that other extra hard plastic screen protector that the first version also came with (can't use the phone screen with it on).

I was going to get the Switcheasy CapsuleRebel (http://www.switcheasy.com/products/Rebel/Rebel.html) but this looks good too. I was planning on using just BodyGuardz or Ghost Armor day-to-day then I wanted a solid case for traveling, backpacking, or other situations where my phone would be subject to more beating. Which would you guys recommend? (I was also considering buying an Otterbox if I bought the CapsuleRebel)

I'm going to order this on blind faith right now and I'll let you guys know how I like it when I receive it. By the way, whoever had the past Revo, did it fit on the iPhone dock with it on?

Yeah i went with the switcheasy as well. I really couldn't imagine having to take that plastic thing off and then put it on the back while fumbling to try and get the phone out of my pocket to answer a call.

I am in no way affiliated with iSkin, however, have to say it is the best case for the iPhone period. That thing kept my old iPhone safe after any drop/throw, and yes unfortunately my poor iPhone was thrown from time to time, however, to this moment, it is in perfect shape. Just ordered me a diablo. :-)

Hey Everyone - I'm glad your exicted about the launch of the new revo2 i know you all will not be disappointed.

Thought id help answer your question: For a better experience you can maintain your iPhone covered while in the dock but you may want to check out the SendStation Dock Extender available on our site aswell to make sure you get the best connection and sturdiness.

Little confused on the Ozone color, it looks white but when i put it in my cart it says clear/black.

Is this case indeed clear and not white like the cart says? If so thats great! If not and it really is white does anyone have ideas on how to change an order I placed to the Onyx (black)?

Thnx!

I'd also like to know the best way of getting one in the UK as they do appear to be decent cases. I tried the invisibleshield the other day and completely messed up the back panel and it ended up stuck to a piece of paper :(

Is the revo hard to slide in and out of your pocket? Even though it's silicon, I thought I saw a review somewhere that mentioned it wasn't as "sticky" as some others.

Just a quick followup question, why would it fit better on the Sendstation dock? Would it just be a tighter fit than the Apple dock or what? Would it just seem like were shoving it into the Apple dock and it might break?

Last night I canceled my earlier-this-week order for one of those clear GEAR4 cases from the UK, and ordered an Onyx Revo in its place. My old iPhone had a Revo case and it was absolutely wonderful to use. The only reason I ordered the GEAR4 thing in the first place is because iSkin takes so dang long to get their new cases out... but now that these are available, I highly recommend them.

Kristian,

my biggest gripe with the original Revo was the port covers: I lost the docking cover pretty quickly, and after a while the headphone cover started tearing off because it was so exposed when headphones were in. Has iSkin done anything to help remedy this? I noticed that the dock cover is now attached to the case, but I'm afraid after daily usage it'll tear off pretty quickly. If it does, is it covered under the warranty?

Also, with the new headphone jack, its possible to use right-angle headphone plugs with the iPhone. However, it looks like the headphone port cover on the new Revo would get in the way of using right-angle plugs (or at least stretched/stressed to the point of tearing off). Any comments?

Finally, is the silicone material the same as the original Revo? Same texture, thickness, etc?

Thanks!

P.S. Any chance existing Revo owners could get a discount on getting a Revo2? :D $40 + $10 shipping is pretty steep for a case...thats 1/4 of the price of the phone itself!

Hello Kristian. I'm still confused regarding the iPhone 3G Dock/Revo2 compatibility. The link you provided above clearly states, "Dock Extender works flawlessly with iPhone, but does not fully fit into the docking station supplied with the iPhone." To me this seems to refer to the original iPhone, as the Dock was supplied in the original packaging. Has this compatibility changed with the slimmer, re-designed iPhone 3G Dock (sold seperately)? Does the Dock Extender fully fit into the new iPhone 3G Dock? I really want a Revo2 and an iPhone 3G Dock, but to spend $30 on a Dock Extender that is not compatible with the iPhone 3G Dock seems really silly, don't you agree? Please advise. Thanks in advance!! :-)

I just ordered my Sonic.

Im excited as I was trying desperately to decide between this, a Vaja SP case and a basic Invisable Shield.

Ive ordered the shield, and may just end up using it to cover the face. And Im so in love with some of the Vaja stuff, Ill end up treating myself eventualy...

But the Revo just got so many amazing reviews form the 1st gen iPhone and it looks so perfect.

I just hope I get it before I drop my phone. Its been nekkid for over 2 weeks now. My luck will only last so long Im sure...

Ok bear with me on this one let me rip your questions and ill respond to each one.

1) Has iSkin done anything to help remedy this? Port Cover - Yes we heard your guys calls on the port cover issue - as for your concern with it tearing - i cant foresee this happening. but if it does and its not caused by you really trying to rip the thing off and just from daily use - of course iSkin would do what we could to remedy that for you!

2) "Also, with the new headphone jack, its possible to use right-angle headphone plugs with the iPhone. However, it looks like the headphone port cover on the new revo would get in the way of using right-angle plugs (or at least stretched/stressed to the point of tearing off). Any comments?"

I don't foresee this being an issue either - i use the iSkin X1's though and dont own a set of headphones like that. But with the fear of it ripping - again as long as your not trying to rip it off it shouldn't.

So this goes for everyone - if you are having issues with your cases tearing - please contact me and send me pictures of whats happening and i can see what i can do to remedy that!

Funny you say that in your PS - im playing with an idea now for a Special Promo for the people who move from a competing product to an iSkin.

But maybe this is a good opportunity to ask - If iSkin was to run a contest or a promotion - what would be the ideal one be for you guys/gals?

Kristian, I'm really impressed with your customer service. Thank you for spending the time to answer our questions.

It's great to hear about the quality of the product. The 3G is my first iPhone but I've used your guys cases on previous iPods and was very impressed. It's nice to hear that they're even better now.

I'm kind of concerned about not being able to use a 3G dock. I spent $30 on getting a dock just because I thought I'd still be able to use it with this product. I'm interested in seeing where this goes.

I'd totally be interested in partaking in a contest. I'm switching from the Griffin Nu Form myself and I'm really excited to get the case. As to what the contest would entail, I really have no ideas for what we could do.

Thanks again.

Thanks, Kristian for all the posts/responses. Your prior responsiveness was what pushed me toward your product, as it did others.

I'm not so concerned about a confirmation email because I see that my order status is active on the website. But some reassurance as to when these will start shipping would be good. If you don't know, you don't know, and we can plan accordingly, but if the quoted 3-5 business days is just a hunch, we should know that as well. It's day 2 for my iphone and I'm wandering around with the shipping plastic still on! :o

I don't know about contests, but a discount for MacRumors forum members would sure be nice (though I guess I've already ordered)! I definitely feel like I paid a decent premium to buy this case versus competing models. But the raves of gen 1 owners, and your responsiveness, sold me.

Kristian,

Can you please give us some info on when the FUZE for the 3G might be released? I really like the looks of the Revo2, but I like the fuze for the original iPhone even better. Is a new FUZE in the works, and if so, any ideas on when it will be announced?

I ordered one last night and only received the PayPal confirmation. It would definitely be nice to get a confirmation from iSkin as well.

Also, I have used the iSkin website to ask questions about the revo2 and shipping policies but have yet to receive a response yet. The only time I received a response was when I asked about my iPod case...but no responses with any of my iPhone case questions. Anyone else have luck with contacting iSkin via the website?

On the iSkin site it shows that a new Fuze for 3G is in the works and gives you the option to sign up to be notified when it becomes available (Similiar to how things were done with the Revo2).

I agree, that is problematic. I paid via paypal (and am somewhat regretting it if a lot of time is going to pass), so it had to be instant, but charging credit cards before shipping should be a no no.

I totally appreaciate Kristian posting here and his level of service has gone above and beyond.

Sadly however I have been having a tough time getting someone on the phone at iSkin.

I placed my order for the Revo2 Ozone on 7/24 and paid via PayPal which completed transaction. I thought I would have the case by now and since I know that they have not shipped I am wondering who I can talk to about updating my shipping to the faster method (since I need this case sooner than later).

I sat on hold to Toronto for 10mins and finally hung up since Long Distance from California is expensive! (I think I just spent how much shipping would have cost).

Kristian, if you read this can you please help me? I really would like to update my shipping method to get this thing quicker if possible.

Thank you.

Because Apple is a reseller of your product I'm sure that they will be very interested in learning about the problems we're experiencing with iSkin.

Customers should be able to purchase confidently with out having to worry about these issues. It is inappropriate especially when dealing with products of the calibre of Apple.

Thanks for your reply, although I had already seen that (and signed up for the email notification) on their site.

I was hoping Kristian could give us some insight on the FUZE, because I want to get a case relatively soon to protect my phone, but I don't want to wait 6 months or more. I was hoping he would be able to tell us it would be coming soon.

One thing I will say right away is that you all have made my night! Thank you so much for the all the kudos - It really is much appreciated!

As the current Marketing Manager for iSkin I really believed that the best way to talk to our customers is to be in their shoes and see the world from where you stand. and what better way then to lace up and jump right in where you guys live day to day...

So again thank you very much appreciated.

As for anyone else experiencing these delays please be patient - our CSR's are getting an influx of calls and are doing the very best they can. If anything to save you some time use the email forms we have in place as emails are usually processed within one business day.

I placed an order and received PayPal confirmation, but not a direct Email from your company. After reading here and getting a response from an Email that I sent to iSkin, I see that there is a way to look up an order on your site.

My question is when do you anticipate shipping out orders? Do you have these items in stock? Will you send us a tracking number or shipping confirmation Email? (Hint, hint)

Looking forward to trying your product!

Hey Everyone - in light of me not wanting to flame the board I'm going to condense all the updates into one post and in all honestly i have been working today since 8am and im beat! ;)

ok here we go

after reading all the posts since yesterday I have seen 3 things that need my attention tonight.

1) Confirmation emails - I have brought this up to our online operation manager and they are working on a fix to this problem as we speak.

2) revo2 @ Apple Store - Unfortunately I cannot give you an exact date on thsi but they will be hitting shelves in the next couple weeks there. So if your holding out to get it at the store the wait is almost over.

3) fuze2 - I assure you the wait is not far off from being over! the best thing you can do is sign up to be notified and you will be the first to know when this is available.

Hope this is kosher for tonight.

Thanks guys

I'll be a fan once they ship! I really have no place to whine since I ordered Monday and the site quotes 3-5 business days. But I have a bad feeling that I'll be rightfully whining come next Monday. It's really tough to throw yourself into a forum, so I really admire Kristian for it, but I can't help but notice the dancing around our primary question of availability and shipping. I can only take that to mean that he doesn't know for sure. :( Day 3 with shipping plastic on the back of my phone. At least I bought a crystal skin for the front at Apple yesterday. Couldn't bring myself to plunk down $30 for a temporary back protection.

It's interesting.

It seems their only problems are with screen protection and price. I have a PS Anti-glare screen protector and I'll probably keep the visor off unless I'm working out with it, so I guess that point is moot to me. Also, iLounge's reviews bewilder me sometimes. They gave the Countour iSee for the 3G a high rating despite the issue of not being able to flip the silent switch back off, which is a pretty major defect. They also gave one of my favorite cases for the previous-gen iPhone, the Incase Slider, a B-.

Just received the new case this eveing and I must say its pretty danm sexy:cool: I ordered the case on friday morning around 6AM. I ordered the Onyx (black/black). I originally wanted the ozone but thought it was cheesy just being white. Well after finding out from Kristian that it was indeed clear, I sent an email to iskin on monday around 10-11AM wishing to change my order to the ozone. I never recieved an email confirmation so I was a little anxious when I tracked my order this morning and found out that my order was still listed as an onyx. Well it arrived today around 6PM and I immediately ripped the package open like a little kid. Im not crazy about the film that was sent with the case. No matter how many times I tried and retried I couldnt smooth out the bubbbles. But its still a better view than my invi*****hield which had streaks going down the screen. Overall, the case is probablly the best ive seen for the iphone 3g and it feels right in the hand. Nothing is loose, the case fits nice and snug and I almost want to throw my phone on the ground it looks to tough. A big thumbs up to kristian and the guys at iskin. Excellent customer service and an excellent product. Ill be sure to tell freinds and family about this case:D

Really nice case although it looks a bit turquoise rather than blue as seen in the pics on page 2.

It also feels like it has a bit less grip than the original Revo case, although that could be because it is new.

Just had my Sonic Blue delivered as well. I paid extra for the expidited shipping to get it today b/c my Iphone is being Delivered today to the At&t store, so wanted to have it all the same day.

The package is nice and looks like it should for a $40 product but I did see a few issues. Nothing huge, but worth noting.

The Sonic Blue isn't near as "Blue" as the pictures online show, could be the lighting or something but it definately is a lighter color. The case also has a good bit of left over material on it still from the mold on the seams on each side, not too bad, it can prob. be scraped or picked off. I am sure when the phone gets in the case that the color will prob. be closer to the pictures, but the main thing that is annoying is the left over stuff from the mold, which isn't appearent in the pictures at all. Also, which I knew off hand, this thing attracts dirt and dust like crazy with the gel material. It was dirty when I first opened it, not bad but had dust on it and the back of the case has white specks on it like maybe mold or something.

One small thing is in the picture it looks like there is a little Apple logo on the back but there isn't on my blue one, may just be the picture though.

All in all I give it a 5/10 so far, but I haven't used it with the phone so it may improve. And no, don't take this as a negative post b/c it isn't just my thoughts on it.

I was very satisfied with their website and ease of ordering and the customer service seems to be great since they are even on the forum.

I am having this problem as well. i tracked the case this morning and it said it had left Maumee, Ohio. Now when i track it its back to "billing info received". i really hope something didn't happen to the package and that this is just UPS having issues with there tracking. Well just ended up going with an incase that they had at the store. Just really didn't want to pay 10 bucks for shipping plus the fact that it was already high in price.

However my old revo will fit pretty good. So I am happy for now, probably pick one up later on when they are in stores and I am ready for a change.

For people who have the revo2 for the iphone 3g. How is it? Do you think that the plastic cover is a hassle taking it off every time you want to use your phone? Also does anyone have info when iskin.inc plan to make the fuze for 3g?

I received my revo2 on Friday and have been using it with no complaints since. I keep the visor on the backside of the revo2 while I'm around the house since i typically don't carry it around, but then place it back on the front when sticking it in my pocket when I leave. The quality is good and everything lines up with their appropriate locations. I've taken a couple calls with the visor on and had no problem pulling it out of my pocket, flipping the visor to the back and answering the call. It did add another second to my answer time, but I have not had an issue, nor do I mind with the protection it provides from direct screen impacts and contact with coins, keys, etc in my pocket. Pulling it in and out of my pocket adds a slight amount of resistance, but is not annoying or a burden. I think of it as a more secure feeling because my uncovered iphone had the tendency to almost slide out of my pocket when moving from sitting/standing. I own several other iSkin products for older ipods and they continue to make high-quality products!

Great question, I was thinking about grabbing a DLO skin (apparently the ones that come with the Jam Jacket, which I don't need of course, are best) per this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=532437). But I wanted to see what the iSkin version was like first. Looks really blotchy (without having actually put it on). I'm currently using a Power Support anti-glare and love it for fingerprints/smudges (i.e. just about none) but wouldn't mind something a bit clearer. It's a trade-off that's hard to avoid, so you just have to find the right sweet spot for your taste.

Anyway, if someone puts on the iSkin film, please report back.

Taken straight from ilounge's review of the Iskin Revo2:

"Where the problem comes in with Revo2 is in the screen sensitivity. We found that using the included anti-glare film diminished the screen’s touch accuracy, and under certain conditions appeared to make parts of the screen unable to respond to our touches. Pulling the film off seemed to solve the problem. As with last year’s model, we’d gladly give up the hard plastic screen cover and the too-thick rectangle of film for a simple thin piece of full-face film. It would cut down the price and improve the case’s performance."

It seems the included film isnt too great. Some might want to go ahead and order a different film (Fullbodyfilm, Zagg, Powersupport, etc.) before you receive the case. You'll end up with a case but no screen protection :( . just a thought!

Thanks, I forgot about ilounge's comments on that topic. I think I'll try the DLO version and just pitch the iskin stuff. Seems like all these films would come from the same factory in China anyway!

... just a few quick comments:

I love the feel of this new Revo2 skin, compared to the old one. Don't know exactly why, but it feels different. New texture, maybe?

Not a big fan of the screen film that comes with this. I am continuing to use the Power Support anti-glare film and despite iSkin's warnings, the proximity sensor works fine even through the PS film and the Revo2's frosted sensor cover.

The clip on visor fits rather tightly. And due to the curvature of the back of the iPhone, when you clip the visor on the back, it doesn't hug the phone like the old Revo's visor did. Kinda weird.

Speaking of the visor: A ding to iSkin for using stickers with gooey adhesive to attach the visor to the Revo in the box. Now my visor has sticky spots on its tabs which I can't fully remove. (Kristian, if you are reading this, can you all set me up with a clean visor?)

The dock plug comes out and goes back in very easily. Kudos to iSkin for improving this design to eliminate dock plugs that you can lose. (Remarkably, I only ever lost ONE of them permanently.)

Bonus: Not sure if everyone is getting this, but I received an iSkin baseball cap in the box with my Revo2.

So, I am very impressed! I'd recommend the Revo2 to anyone who wants to protect their iPhone 3G from scratches. (If only I'd had it BEFORE I got the phone... my Belkin silicone case let dust in and some of it put a few minor blemishes on the back of my black phone.)

Got my combo today. I love it. I feel like the iphone is so protected now and yet it doesnt impede its use.

The film protector that came with it is ok. I like the one I had on it before mainly because it was non-reflective.

The visor is no big deal BUT I will see how it does or does not slow me in answering calls. And it shows finger prints on it but a simple wipe removes them. Now Im speaking about the visor thing NOT the film or face of the iphone.

I DID get the clip. Nice. The clip does make you put the iphone face INTO your body side. I guess it adds an extra layer of protection. :)
it doesnt stick out too far and the clip will swivel. The swivel is a locking step so it doesnt freely spin around. Also, it makes for a nice stand when watching a movie.

So to sum up, Im taking it and the packaging, which was really nice(but who cares) to work tomorrow and going to advertise this product. I think its a good durable product and offers tremendous protection.

There is a cover which is easy to move out of the way for the docking/charging port and the headphones...nice touch.
The volume buttons are not exposed but still work fairly easily. The ringer/vibration button is exposed and is easy to operate.
The holes for the mic and speaker are great too.

Now if I can just find a car chargher that isnt way over prices. Anyone with suggests?

Wo0t!

Got my iSkin today. It's quite nice. It's not quite as 'rubbery' as i thought it would be (by that I mean how well it grips) but am sure with more use it will be even better. It fits the phone well and comes in a well presented package. Well done. The screen cover and film, however, aren't amazing. The film left bubbles that I was unable to get rid of, no matter how hard I tried and the plastic screen cover doesn't really fit on the back properly. But it does fit securely on the front, and that's the place where it's important to have a good fit. Overall, I really like it - and love the colour, which appears to be a darker blue than on the iSkin website (but it's nicer in my opinion). So thanks iSkin. Would recommend this product to anyone!

Though I'm sure a bunch of us used the original iSkin cases for one reason or another and were waiting for the new one anyway. Hit this guy up man... (AIM: iskinkristian) he'll answer whatever questions you got much quicker than here...I personally was annoyed about shipping costs w/ a phone case so I stated my case along with an idea..

I received my case yesterday and while I will not be keeping it, I can definitely say that this is a great case. I ordered the clear case and am very impressed with how the case can be very protective, but at the same time looking so nice. The material that it is made with is very nice, even nicer than the previous iSkin covers that I've had. It has kind of a textured silicone that adds a lot of grippiness to it. It's not hard at all to pull out of your pocket and while it does attract a little bit of lint in your pockets, it doesn't attract much at all, especially compared to other silicone cases. It also seems like it would really protect your phone. I think that if I were to drop my phone, it would survive unscathed. The case doesn't mess with the sensors on the phone, either. They act just the same as if they were naked.

Unfortunately, I will not be keeping this case because it's not dockable on the Apple 3G dock. There was a miscommunication between me and Kristian earlier in the thread which led me to believe that it would be. He thought I was talking about a different dock. I contacted Kristian about it through email and then through AIM and he resolved the problem for me and then assured me that I would be able to return it.

The customer service that iSkin exhibits is second to none. I have dealt with many online stores and I've never been so pleased with a store before. I have ordered from them in the past and I would definitely do business with them again, if only for their customer service.

If you really love the case, why not just return the 3G dock and get an apple universal dock or 3rd party one that will allow you to dock the phone with the case on it? I find it more of a struggle to find a good case that a dock it will fit in. Thanks for the review, either way.

I just got mine in Diablo Red today, and I have to say it is damn beautiful!

It feels so perfect on the phone and even with the case on, it still fits in the Marware Leather pouch clip, so I wont have to buy the extra clip that exposes the one side of the phone.

I love that the connector protection is attached to it and that it is flush. The reinforced headphone jack part is much nicer than the old one. The material feels different, but its perfect. It fits just right and it feels a lot stronger than the first gen one (if thats even possible). Overall, A++ on this case, a must have for anyone!

Got my case today and installed it. Looks great though I decided to wash the visor and case to remove some small fibers/dust particles that were clinging to the inside. Definitely getting another screen protector as the one it comes with isn't as good and feels cheap and reduces the responsiveness of the screen. Most probably get the Power Crystal one.

iPhone slides into the clip easily when it is facing inwards but very tight when pushing it into the clip facing outwards but hopefully it'll loosed up as time goes. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and can't wait to see how it weathers real world use.

Ive had the Revo for a few days but i wanted to wait for the film so i could have it all on together. The installation was flawless and it was my first time dealing with protection film. i couldn't be happier. the Revo is simply amazing. the feel, look, and protection it gives is just unbelievable. Like many have mentioned already, the plastic screen doesn't fit too well on the back, but i probably wont be using it too often anyway. It fits great on the front though, and ill really only be using this during travel.

The port covers are fantastic, they don't feel too loose when "plugged" in. They also don't seem like they'll rip after extended use, which some were afraid of. I can still use the ringer switch/volume , sleep and the home button just as easy as before if not even easier. but not easy enough to where it will press in your pocket if you happen to bump into someone or something. This case is an A++++++ . The Revo and FBF combo in my opinion is currently the best thing out there. i recommend getting this case IMMEDIATELY! I received my Sonic Blue Revo2 yesterday. I absolutely love it. It's certainly the best case I've ever owned for the iPhone, 1st or 2nd Gen. It has a snug, perfect fit on the phone and adds relatively little bulk, even for a silicon case. I find myself using the visor much more than I had anticipated. It's so well integrated and allows me to put the phone in my pocket screen out. It picks up VERY little lint and dirt, something in common with my favorite rubber case for the previous gen, the XtremeMac Tuffwrap. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it so far and am very happy with my purchase. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Here's some pics:

I love my iSkin Revo 3G (ozone). Just 2 minor issues. Especially love the included anti-glare/smudges screen protector (seems to be slightly improved from the one included with the first Revo? minus the privacy ridges)

1. The hole for the top ear speaker doesn't seem to want to line up, the hole is always above the speaker. Anyone else having this mis-alignment?

2. The part around the screen where the plastic screen protector would grip onto the rubber seems to flare out a bit like there's not enough material.

Same two issues here but:

Issue #1 does not seem to impact the sound as I can hear callers just fine.

Issue #2 I think could get worse over time as it seems to pull a little when the visor is on. The good news is even with the flairing out it covers the entire bezel.

Even with these 2 minor observations I am 100% satisfied with the case :)

No sag at all.
Slight bulge/ill fit on one side of the screen (barely noticed and looks like it will go away over time).

The only real problem I have is trying to put it face out into the clip. It is such a tight fit that I don't want to try it again! I keep it face in anyways, but if I want to use the clip as a stand it would be aggravating every time.

Been a week since I made my order at eoutlet.co.uk, they took my money on monday, but no word of dispatch. If there's one thing I hate it's poor service.

eoutlet got back to me fast, apparently they have not received their stock yet, apologised for charging my card early and will offer me a goodwill gesture of some variety once I've got the skin:D

I just got the Blue one today from the Apple store. I like the look and feel of it.

One important question though:

Will this case scratch up the chrome like other popular rubber/silicone *cough cough Incase* cases?

If you really love the case, why not just return the 3G dock and get an apple universal dock or 3rd party one that will allow you to dock the phone with the case on it? I find it more of a struggle to find a good case that a dock it will fit in. Thanks for the review, either way.

Hi,

I ordered my Revo2 a few days ago, and while I'm waiting for it to arrive I wonder if anyone got a solid answer to the dock question. It sounds like the SendStation dock extender will not work with the Revo2, and the 3G dock won't work with the Revo2. Will the Apple universal dock definitely work with the Revo2? Other 3rd party docking suggestions? Thanks!

I have been using mine for a few weeks now and the chrome trim still looks like new (minus the one or two scratches it got while waiting for the revo2.

The Revo2 will NOT work with the iPhone 3G Dock, but it does work with both the Apple Universal dock with no inserts and the Logitech iPhone speakers I use. You just have to pull back the dock cover on the case when inserting it.

Just bought mine from the apple store about an hour ago. It's ok at best. Way, way, way overpriced.

1. The fit and finish on this thing is not the fit and finish on a $40 case. Loose strands of silicon everywhere.

2. Terrible cutting job. My silence switch is incredibly hard to to reach when the phone is silenced, they didn't make the hole big enough. My dock cover isnt even cut straight, its actually cut at angle, it does cover it, but come on it should be at least cut straight for $40.

3. The visor does not fit the back of the case very well at all. If i remember right the first revo when the visor was on the back it snapped into place. This one it does not. It just barely hangs on. Not to mention the visor was cut horrible as well too. Sharp edges and what almost looked like pieces were broken off around the edges.

I did go through two cases at the apple store hoping some of these issues was just limited to the one case, but its not. Both cases were pretty bad finish wise. The second one a little better. The speaker hole at least lined up correctly.

In the end, i'm probably going to end up keeping it because the protection it provides is second to none, with the very soft silicone I dont believe it will scratch the bezel much, if at all. For $40 dollars i would not buy it again until some of these problems are addressed.

That sucks! It sounds like you ran into a bad batch. On the inside flap of my Revo box there is a date of 7/30/08. My case is perfect. I do not have any of the issues you list except one: the visor does not fit the back very well. I don't think this is a product defect because you are only supposed to temporaraly keep the visor there while you are accessing your phone. It is not meant to be a "visor storage".

Maybe if you tell iskin your problem they can send you a better finished one?

Strange indeed. Other than the visor fitting poorly on the back, I had none of these issues. I don't even keep the visor with the phone anymore because I feel like I have all the protection I need with the case and a screen cover from the Jam Jacket (bought it just for their cover!), and it feels MUCH less bulky without the visor hanging on. Plus, I never have anything in my pocket with my iPhone. I'll just use the visor for travel.

Very pleased with my iskin revo 2, and im also using the invisibleshield which is VERY awsome, but im only using the back piece because i am very anal about the teeny scratches that show up on the back from dust and debris. Only 2 minor concerns with it, any anyone please post if you have the same issues
1. The plastic screen cover seems too small because it does not seem big enough due to the gap on the top and bottom. (very small gap, but noticeable)
2. flap where the screen protector on the sides are slightly not aligned with the case itself. Very hard to explain but if anyone can share their issues also

Hey there,

to answer this question - No our case with the fit that it has should not casue any rubbing which comes with other cases not fitting exactly to spec.

To be on the safer side if you are a heavy user of your phone and are in less then desirable situations like a construction site...lol you may want to take your revo2 off every once in a while to give it a good cleaning. Warm water and soap is all you need.

Let me clarify this - there was a mis understanding between a customer and myself where they had purchased the 3g dock from the apple store - i had thought he was referring to a speaker dock so no the revo2 will not fit with the 3g dock from apple.com.

The SendStation dock extender WILL work with most speaker systems with a dock while keeping your revo2 on your phone. I use this myself with my Apple HIFI.

I am enjoying the case (got it this morning) but my only complaint at the moment is that the sleep button is very hard to press. I have to make an effort to reach it and get it to work. (also, switching back from silent to ringer is a bit problematic). The home button is also a bit stiffer than the previous iskin revo for the original iphones. But otherwise, it's the best case on the market, in my opinion.

As for the hard plastic screen cover, i understand why it doesn't fit so well on the back of the case- the iphone 3G is curved on the back. it fits well on the front of the screen, but I don't really plan on using it or carrying it around much unless i'm taking a long trip or something.

I also have the crystal clear film thing over it and it seems to work fine with the sensors.

Well I have gone through quite a few cases lately, But i have found the one that i am going to keep. The Iskin is the best case that I have tried and its the one that i will keep. The feel and looks and protection that it offers is in my opinion #1.
Here is a picture of the cases that I have tried, I bought the black incipo at the AT&T store for nineteen nighty nine when I purchased the iphone, It was ok but felt like it would slip off the phone, very thin silicon. The next one is the blue ivyskin XYLO It took almost four weeks to receive it,with no response from ivyskin after numerous inquiries about shipment Its ok too but the silicon feels a little to hard in my hand, and the home button is really hard to push in. and the screen protector that came with it does not fit the phone, it was to long! The next one is a crystal case that I got off of ebay for six dollars, It is similar to the ivyskin but not as good a quality. the material that it is made of is thinner than the ivyskin's, and the case is really hard to slide together, the touch screen works ok, It feels cheap and I would not want to put my iphone in it. The blue gel skin is another that I bought off of ebay. cellet jelly, six dollars. another cheap case, the silicon broke around the home button almost immediately, very thin silicon material, I used some scissors to cut it below the home button to be able to keep using it and to make it look a little better. the next one is the ivyskin clone,I saved twenty dollars by buying this one off of ebay was far better than the crystal case, thicker plastic, and feels solid, touch screen worked pretty good, but the case scratched the back of my phone when I removed the phone from the case and it also nicked the chrome bezel. I removed the screen protector from it and cut it down to use with the gel skin cases, worked pretty good, the top case is the iskin, this is the one I am keeping, It just feels right in my hand and the iphone looks pretty good in it, far superior to the other cases. I like the removable screen protector, I wish that I had bought this one first, would have saved me some money. I might buy me a red one next. just for a different look. All of the other ones are going into my desk drawer to collect dust..

Kristian and everybody else here, I am planning to buy the black Revo2 but looking the photos recently posted Iīve been thinking about the grip.
Itīs too sticky? Opinions.
The other option and way out of Revo2 is the Capsule Rebel. Itīs a better product the Iskin? Why (over the Rebel)?
Thanks.

If you take into effect that the back of the iPhone now is curved you will appreciate the difficulty that we had coming to a decision on how to tackle this small hurdle - We know that it doesn't sit flush like the very different first gen. What we did to ensure a snug fit of the visor to the rear of the phone was to enhance the mounting "stubs" on either side.

this was the best possible solution

Maybe if any of you have any ideas on how we could have possibly done this differently - I would be glad to make note of everyones suggestions.

Thanks

I am sorry but i do not have any new news in which i can share with you on the upcoming release of the fuze2. We are doing our best to come up with the best possible case to really WOW everyone with it and this is not something that can be rushed.

Our team is working very hard at this to ensure that when you guys see this case youll just have to have it.

In terms of the upcoming release of the fuze2 I'm guessing iskin is watching their revo2 sales. They may already have the fuze done for the iphone 3g, but do not want to take away from the revo2 sales. They will probably want to wait for the revo to become less popular before they release the fuze. That's just my opinion.

The Revo is absolutely perfect in terms of balancing grip versus having too much pocket friction or lint grabiness (I think I'm making up words). It's not like those early model silicone cases for ipods and such. I think it feels fantastic, actually. Very cool material they use. It's probably the only reason I was able to go silicone instead of a hard case.

Kristian,

I just found this on eBay...are they legit? Their prices are $20 cheaper than the iSkin website when you factor in shipping. And they have 99.4% positive reviews with 4542 reviews, which sounds pretty good to me! They are claiming that they are an iSkin certified reseller.

Im glad you brought this up - as this is an ongoing concern/battle for iSkin. With any rather large organization you have to deal with the people out there who feel they can make a quick and easy dollar selling popular product. and Ebay does a very good job making it readily easy for anyone to do so.

To protect our brand we have strict policies in place for all our resellers who have to sell at MSRP. its an actual agreement that you have to sign with iSkin in order to even sell our product. We work with an organization that basically scrubs the net looking for these people/businesses and cross referencing them with our database then if they are found to be unauthorized they are contacted immediately to cease all sales.

So in this case sure nothing against the guy I'm sure he is doing a great job - servicing his clients on ebay. But at this time I cannot verify that he is an authorized reseller and that you will in fact get a genuine iSkin product that he is representing.

You have to be careful buying from E-Bay with anything brand name - I know I got taken for a Pair of shoes aswell...

I Hope this answers your question

Bought mine off of eBay and it's easily the best case I've encountered so far. I had three iSkins in the past for my Nano, Video and 5G and have been happy with them all, so I waited for this skin in particular. My only qualm is the screen protector. I lose it constantly since it fits awkwardly on the back. Otherwise, I love it to pieces.

To those worried about the cost, I can say easily it's worth the sticker price. The only reason I didn't order off website was the shipping. If you're thorough, you can find, (like I did) a bit more than $10 off plus free shipping on eBay.
