Talk To Me About Shure Headphones

I threw caution to the wind, and bought the Vmoda Vibe Duos about 6 weeks ago. Like others have experienced, they've already started cutting out in one ear. Lesson learned.

So I'm looking for replacements. Shure is on my consideration list right now. I see they have a microphone adapter you can buy. I'm trying to get a grip on the cable length with the adapter attached. I'm assuming the cable that comes on the Shures is a 3' cable. Wouldn't that leave the microphone 3' from your mouth?

Any other thoughts on the Shures for use with an original iPhone? I have a gift card to the Apple store, so it needs to be something they carry.
