Alright, this is what i want:

- device the size of an ipod (a bit larger of smaller wouldn't hurt) => pocket-sized
- possibility to store a couple of movies (2 or 3gb per movie)
- possibility to connect it to a television set -> high quality!
- easy to use.

the ipod apparently only supports a 480p tv out, so i need something bigger than that and my macbook is a bit of a hassle.

i have movies in the .mp4 format.

we're going to have a movie marathon at a friend's house next week and i don't want to burn every movie onto a DVD etc... i just want to take this device with me, hook it up to the television and get started.

or would you guys say that 480p is good quality for a normal-sized television?

thanks in advance

A normal size TV (not HD) has a maximum resolution of 480i or 480p (DVD quality), so that would be "good for a normal size television" i guess.

however, no HD (720p or 1080i/p) is going to come out of an iPod.
