Chat in facebook not work??

Every time I try and chat with someone it says the following:

"Your message could not be delivered at this time. Please try again later."

Anyone know how to fix this? I know it has nothing to do with people being off line because my wife is in the other room on her account.

Edit: I should mention that im talking about the facebook App.

The native Facebook is riddled with bugs. It constantly crashes to the home screen, unable to pull down mini-feeds, unable to log in, etc, etc.
Keep it, in case of updates, but use the web app instead. Okay, there's no chat function, but at least it's stable. :D

the same thing happened to me, but i was offline on the main website. Once I became available, i was able to chat

I was just chatting with a buddy a couple days ago on it. Unless this is a new problem chat works for me on facebook. Try deleting the app and re-installing maybe :confused:

Fixed! Apparently if you have your Chat turned off on facebook it will disable it for your iphone as well.
