Ok, so I have a Motorola Q9(with AT&T) I have a 3G sim card unlimited data already on my plan and unlimited texting and everything. If I get an iphone will I have to change my plan and get a new sim card or what?

The 3G data plan for the iPhone will be $30 + the cost for SMS. A data plan for the first generation iPhone will cost $20 and includes 200 SMS. The cost for minutes just depends on how many minutes you want.

me and my dad both got an iphone 3G 8GB on release and were expecting that we'd have to go on a seperate family plan from my sister and cousin. But idk if it was just due to the bricking issue it was just added on to our regular family plan. Then we just raised our minutes and then mine and my dad's lines got unlimited data and we already had unlimited txting so really we're now just paying the regular family plans plus data. Confusing im sure, hard to explain but yeah. All in all, you do get a sim card already in the phone, but your only plan difference might just be whatever you decide to change.
yes, the new plan will overwrite the old plan, unless you get ahold of a 3g phone without activating it and stick your old sim in it, then you can keep the old data plan
I went to an ATT store and they told me that I could get an iPhone and keep the same plan I have (Unlimted Data + 1500msgs $40). However, I haven't seen anyone here that has keep their old ATT data plan....

you can simply buy the phone and just insert your sim card, and it would work just fine.

If you're moving to an iPhone, all you need is $30 unlimited data, which is required, and whatever text plan you want.
you need to sign up for the iphone plan for 2 years
so just cancel your current data plan and start the iphone one and itll cost you the same amount of money that your spending now
