Ordered 2 but may cancel for the Vaja ivolution SP. Can't decided between the hard cases or leather.

I was going to order this as well, but decided on the Vaja ivolution SP too.

I've been constantly checking their site to see if the 3-4 week shipping dates would change, hoping to know when it would be finally available. The only change that I noticed now is the new video they put up which was quite different from the one they previously had. No definite ship date yet. Maybe they would be released at the same time as the IvySkin Xylo T3 version, which according to their site, is pegged on July 28.

i don't know about you guys, but I'm bothered by the design on the front of the case. That black thing around the iphone? It looks like it's a rubber, even if it's not, i do not like it at all. I prefer the clean look on Gear4 Icebox.;)

I ordered the Naked Case, the XyloT3, and I am debating whether to get Vaja ivolution or the ivolution SP. I was going to order Macally IceCase. Macally's CS told me it would be available the friday that has just passed. It is still listed as Coming Soon. Does anyone have any thoughts on ivolution vs. the ivolution SP?

I am all for the iVolution. I can't stand that flap. To me it would make more sense for an iPod touch, but for a phone that I am constantly using the screen for just seems it would become a pain. I had one for the old iPhone and was pretty impressed. You do have to clean it every couple of days on the inside because dust and dirt will get in there.

I emailed customer support and they said 3-4 weeks as they won't be fully stocked for another 3 weeks. I really don't want to wait 3 weeks for a case and decided to cancel the order and get a iSkin Revo2 instead.

Is there enough room in the Case-Mate case to sneak a gelaskin on the back and still have it fit in the case? My wife and I BOTH have black iPhones and want the same Case-Mate case, but obviously want something on them to make them look different and were thinking the Gelaskins would be nice!

Heh...go check out our issues in the Revo2 thread though. We have no real concept of when ours are shipping either. Site says 3-5 business days, but confirmations are few and far between.

Those Gelaskins are extremely cool. Love the original art and their partnership with artists around the world.

Yeah, but with no real fine point on that. Absent something more concrete that's nothing more than a "Coming Soon" sign to me!

I suppose I like my chances better with them since they are giving a 3-5 day ship date when I called them as opposed to 3 weeks for Case-mate.

I got the frommy case...and it is good...but you can see some bubbling under the screen. I believe the casemate naked case will have better build quality.

It was something very similar then.

The Frommy case is very thin...you can barely see it on the Iphone 3G....I am hoping the Case Mate one is just better constructed...and I believe it will. I will take pictures of both of them on my phone..

But anything to keep the Iphone case and screen from getting scratched or broken...

Leather cases are good and all but you still can drop your phone when you pull it out of the case.

I have had a Naked case (non-3G) on my iPhone for quite a while now to review. It is a very good case as it hardly adds any bulk. It is also really easy to remove your iPhone should you need to.

The only very minor negative was that if you get any damp between the sace and the iPhone screen it shows. Other than that it is very good.

There was also a question earlier in this thread about fitting into a Naked case with a Gelaskin in place. I think it would be a tight fit, but in my opinion just about possible.

This might be a good idea get the best screen protector to place over the screen...and then put naked case or the Frommy case...that way there will be no air pockets between the case and the screen. This could be the ultimate protection.

Anybody try this yet? Anybody got a tracking code for the case-mate naked case order?

Just sent a email to Case-mate...asking about shipment of my order..They said they just received the Case-Mate cases yesterday..."Orders are being fulfilled as they were placed. You should receive an email by the end of the week."

So we should be getting some tracking numbers soon.

I just got my Case Mate Naked case this morning.

A few quick observations and some photos later:
- Easy to install the iPhone in the case...a bit of a challenge to get it out but nothing too bad.
- In terms of bulk, seems like it adds a bit more than I was expecting. I bought an open-faced clear acrylic case at the Apple store when I bought the phone and it is thinner than this Case Mate case. To reach the phone lock button on top or the ring vibrate switch on the side requires you to dig your finger in there.
- The front screen protector seems to work very well. I was able to navigate around in a normal manner without noticing any slip-ups. Initially, the screen protector produces a bit more friction when trying to move around but that might just be because it's brand new. One thing I did notice is that when I turn the phone on the side to view webpages, it was a bit harder to zoom in/out than without the screen protector. A minor quibble.

All-in-all, my initial read is positive with some quibble points that are probably similar to most other cases out there.

**Edit: One other thing I'd mention, which is true of other hard cases I've bought, is that when you are talking on the phone the case is very uncomfortable on the ear. All of the cases I've ever used have the outer edge of the case raised up, which is quite painful when talking on the phone.

I just got mine also.

I can second most of what rdstoll said. Although I did not notice the zoom issue in safari. I don't have any other case, but this does seem just a bit more bulky than I would have expected.

I will also add that the fitment, at least for mine, is not completely precise. When installed, there is a bit of a gap between the front and the back halves of the case on the outside corners near the top of the phone. Probably not a big issue since dust will enter in other areas anyway.

Also, the case did not come with any packaging or literature, just a note saying they were in the process of updating their packaging, and did not want to delay the shipment for that reason.

Yeah pure glass is always gonna feel and be better...but will shatten when you drop the phone when you get out of your car...its always a trade off..

I have gotten use to the Frommy screen...so if the casemate has a better fit and finish...I will use it instead.

Somebody take some pictures....of the case mate on there phone....

So it came. I was excited. I ripped open the box. And there it was. The black strip actually doesn't look that bad. Screen is VERY responsive through the case. Very clean look under the right light. But is definitely a fingerprint/oily hands/smudge magnet. Not too bulky but just bulky enough to not be compatible with my Kensington car charger holster so disappointed with regards to that aspect. Very secure lock. Overall: B.

The search for the perfect case continues...

My camera is not very good.

The BEST case besides the fact that it doesn't fit on my Kensington car charger.

I will use it at home.

I also have a leather marware sports case I have been using which didn't look bad and fit my charger but did not have easy acces to the dock port or the ringer on/off switch...and the bubbles under the little plastic piece for the screen were horrible.

I will use that to workout.

I'm a perfectionist though. I need to be able to do all that I want to do with my case. I'm a 21 yo responsible college student, no pets, very iPhone friendly environment so I'm gonna make one last attempt at the AT&T store. An option I bypassed originally due to my prior research of the iPhone 3Gs coming.

A case that shows most of the phone but covers the edges for scratch reasons. I will never drop that thing on its face. Never. If I don't find anything I like....

IN THE BEGINNING...

ADAM & EVE ...

I'm baring it all, like the celebs do because they have enough money to get another one. This gadget is a natural beauty. Case is optional.

supposedly it's the same case. can anyone verify if you get the slight bubble (air or moisture ya got me) under the front? I find by pushing on the case, it goes away but can come back.

I don't mind the bulk, it doesn't work with some accessories true (particularly an external battery which sadly I have to use)

I ordered a case-mate for my 1st Gen and got it today. I like it a lot. It doesn't add too much bulk, just enough to make me feel like it's better protected.

The only negative I've found is the inner screen touching the phone's face and sticking here and there. It doesn't look good. When the phone's on, you can't even tell though. I'm still researching on how to get rid of that problem.

I'm really disappointed at how bad this case turned out. I ordered only July 11th and finally got it on Monday. I'm most likely going gto try and return it or see if they are at least aware of how poorly built this thing is. First the case separates at the top and has a fairly big gap between the case and the back of the phone. They need to make it lock on the top sides like they do the bottom. I've never really been bothered by the added bulk of cases but the bulk the naked case adds is insane. It's extremely difficult to access the on/off switch and it's awkward to adjust the volume buttons and mute switch. Can anyone recommend a good clear case (aside from Belkin's) that doesn't have anything the obscures the back of the phone? Belkin's has two hard plastic strips going down the back which not only looks bad but I'm sure after continued use would cause some major scratching. This is the worst $65 (Canadian, after shipping) I've ever spent.

aw man that blows. Sorry you hate it :( I guess i'll wait it out and see how i like it. I'm just using it on a first gen phone until i dump it for 3g sometimes in Nov, so i'm sure it will suite my needs.

same issues but also, the "bubble" issue which is either moisture or air that gets between the phone and the case and gives you a small and annoying bubble. As you try to move the case (it's not lock solid on the phone as stated) you can get rid of it temporarily, but this case was marketed as more.

The Gear4 Ice Box pro is by far the best "clear" case on the market. It's not perfect, but it's the best you can get. There's a thread on it here on these boards, read some of the reviews. I strongly suggest you look into it. My only drawback with it is that the back of the case scratches easily

I am returning my naked case as it is huge, sliders are awkward at best to get to, everything is so recessed in. I am waiting for my return label to send back to them, got two gear 4 cases.
