Hi all,

I've begun learning Cocoa, and I've been working through the tutorial at:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/TextArchitecture/Tasks/TextEditor.html

What I'd like to do is to try and have a 'Page View' option i.e. like the WYSIWYG view thats available in lots of different word processors. I believe that this is done using a custom NSLayoutManager and Views like in Figure 2 of:

http://developer.apple.com/document.../TextArchitecture/Concepts/CommonConfigs.html

My main question is: how hard it is to add this view to the Text Editor example? Does it involve thousands of lines of code, with lots of little hacks to handle page breaks, character formatting, margins etc?

I know that its an impossible question to answer accurately; I'd just like to guage roughly whats involved before starting.

Thanks for any information,

Brendan.
