Assuming the journalist knows what he/she is writing about,:
The guy got the phone from Hong Kong, and his M1 SIM card worked, when the official carrier in SG is SingTel, so that means the HK iPhones are pre-unlocked.

Time to ship iPhones form HK?

the only problem i hear is the fact you cannot walk out a shop without signing up to a contract.

the hardwares unlocked but its impossible to legitimatly buy one without a contract!


im off to honkers in october and hopeing that this isnt the case.. but i have not read anything different as yet.
