Browsing intl. iTunes switches iPhone country

I've just noticed that if I browse the US app store (more releases, to see what's coming) when I sync my phone, it also syncs the country setting. Which means, iTunes & App Store on the phone show the US store and can't be used (I'm in Ireland) until you sync again.

Can anyone else confirm this?

If so, it just means be careful to set the iTunes store to your correct country before you sync, there's no way that I can see to switch it back on the phone.

When you switch countries in iTunes, it logs you out of your account (well it does for me anyway). Whatever the last account/store you had selected in iTunes is the account that gets synced to the iPhone.

I wish you could login as a different user directly on the iPhone, I have both a UK and US account.
