I'm considering to buy an Airport Extreme base station to replace an aging (half-broken) 100Mbps switch and an Airport Express (802.11g). The problem is that I'll need to use all four network ports, and one of them is a WAN port... although it does have gigabit.
So, my question is: can I completely disable the WAN magic (NAT and everything else that makes it special) to make it *equal* to the LAN ports (i.e. 700+ Mbps throughput), or is this simply not possible?
The internet connection is routed using a Linux box and I have no plans to change that.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Yes. It will just complain about not being connected to the internet, which you can easily disable.
