Phone exchange possible?

Hey everyone, just got an 8GB iPhone, and I'm having some second thoughts...I'm obviously within 30 days and I bought the Apple Care for it, do you think it's possible to switch models to the 16GB and just pay the $100 difference and keep my phone number, or is that just not doable?

That is what I did at the AT&T store. I got to keep the 8GB phone till the new 16GB phone comes in then they will charge me for the new phone and reimburse me for the old.

Well I got my phone at an Apple store...do I need to go to an ATT store to do this or can I go to an Apple store?
