I'm buying a new laptop, and i'm almost sure that it must be a macbook. But just need to be fully convinced.
So.. Give me all your best reasons, why to buy a macbook instead of a PC.
If you have some negatives (guess there's not a lot), feel free to bring them up too :)
Thanks

I give this thread like 2 mins before a war starts.
PLEASE read existing and almost identical threads that ask the same question.
Not meaning to be too harsh, but you are not the first one to ask this question :)

I was PC all my life, but switched and bought a MacBook a month ago. It's the best thing EVER!
1. It runs Windows. So no worries about not being able to run programs I'm used to.
2. It runs everything in the world on the Mac side. It's awesome.
3. It boots in 15 seconds.
4. It shuts down in 15 seconds.
5. It's beautiful. The keyboard is perfect and the touchpad is so great with the two-finger scroll (sideways, too!) :D
6. It's sexy. I like it.
7. Did I mention it runs Windows? It's really like having TWO computers!
It's great. You will love it and never be sorry you switched. :D:D:apple::apple::D:D

Yes. Just read other threads.
Negative: update soon. If you don't care, buy now.

Mac OS X:D
And I think that one reason alone is enough to bash any one against Mac right in the face!

I'm laughing at this...
1. That extra software is Windows if you want the latest and greatest. Even with that, I doubt a Macbook with an IGPU is up to snuff.
2. I don't even need to argue on this point.
And agreeing with this:
3. Wouldn't say lots... since its just the RAM and HDD, which is very easy to swap for a laptop...
4. The benefits of buying from a company with only 3 models in its laptop line.
Things to consider as usual:
What do you want to use your computer for? Gaming? General use? Designing, movie editting?
Anyway, do you need a Macbook now? There's an update coming soon... :p

Hard to say, though the Buyer's Guide (http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/) might give you a rough idea.
Read the current MR headlines and you should see that there's a strong possibility of a redesign... but an update is imminent with or without the case redesign.
I don't know much about the possible upcoming architecture and specs... shouldn't be too much of a diff. :D
edit: *Looks at post above* I stand corrected.

PCs are cheaper.
They also currently have the latest hardware, most come with GPUs, and not all are ugly (in fact, I like the HP dv5_ line more than any of the macbooks).
However, if you think OSX is worth the extra $100 or however many dollars, go for that.

I was in the same position as you not long ago, i got one and have not regretted it. It is easy to use, you get used to it quickly, it is fast, look nice (over vista) and the macbook also looks great. Get it now and don't look back
