iPhone 3g Lock Button - Stickier / harder to press than edge?

So I noticed sometimes when I try to hit the lock button, it won't lock, and I don't hear the button kinda click I guess when I hit the lock button down.

Is the lock button on all 3gs a bit stickier, or is this a common defect?
