I finally need to by a CD RW for my charcoal G4 tower. Could someome please recommend a reasonably priced deal?
1) The zip drive could be replaced with a CD RW, but I still use the zip sometimes.
2) The CD/DVD drive could be replaced.
3) A CD RW plugged into USB or firewire could be bought.

The CD RW would be used about once a week for large files or back ups.

My Palm tungsten T3 has arrived and is even better than I expected. However they sell it with QuickOffice which does not connect with a Mac. I may have to buy DocsToGo.
Thank you for your help!

No. The Zip drive cannot be replaced by a CD-RW drive. The bay is too small.

That's a good way of doing it. Buy a CD-RW/DVD Combo drive and install it.

Possible, but personally, I prefer internal solutions.

Thanks for the advice, it did help.
Ended up buying a LaCie CDRW USB2 Porsche, as I occasionally need to burn CDs . Cheapest in UK (today 4th Jan) was via MacWarehouse so I used them.
