Hi All,

I've had my new MBP for a while, and the time has come to sell my beloved first Mac (read g/f told me it has to go!) A 1st Gen MBP. I've looked at Mac2Sell, but I'm not sure how reflective the guide price is to the real second hand market.

Details:

Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0055.B08
SMC Version: 1.2f10
Chipset Model: ATI Radeon X1600
VRAM (Total): 256 MB

With a 250GB 5200RPM Western Digital HDD:

Capacity: 232.89 GB
Model: WDC WD2500BEVS-22UST0
Revision: 01.01A01

Come with OS X 1.4 (Tiger), a brand new battery (2 months old) and no Apple Care.

Its been well taken care off, but has wear under the left hand side CTRL+ALT+CMD keys - the silver coating has come off, which I believe is a common complaint. There is also a few marks on the corners of the lid... see pics.

To give an idea, I'm thinking of auctioning on ebay or advertising at the local Mac User Group website.

BTW/ GBP(£) values would be more useful than USD($) 🙂

Cheers,

J.

Read the fine print on mac2sell - there are many, many things they don't include in the price and so are typically very low.

Ebay is a far better guide because you are getting actual market prices to look at and you can look at each auction for things like condition and extra bolt-ons.
