I am trying to install mac osx, with a external usb cd drive. But it isn't working. When I click install it says "Click the button below to restart your computer and begin the installation process." Then I click it and it says "An Error Occurred. Startup Disk was unable to select the install CD as the startup disk. (-2)" What can I do to install this?

Oh yea, and I tried holding down the options key, but nothing happened, except a folder with a question mark in it, then it flashed into a folder. But then once that happened it just started up regularly.

try holding down the 'C' key when you turn the computer on.

You can't boot from many external drives.

Holding 'c' does nothing.

In that case I am pretty positive the problem is that you can not boot from the external drive you have and therefore can not install from it.
