How Likely is it that Mac Pro Gets Updated in

ive saved up £2500 for my mac setup, still got £2000 to go (for screens)
reason for asking is if its low ill buy Mac pro Very Soon. if the % is High i will Buy my Audio equipment while i wait for my Mac Pro

It's also possible that they might announce new MP's at MacWorld, and set the release date for a few months later.

MacWorld is a consumer conference. If they wanted to release a pro product at MacWorld, they wouldn't have released the current Mac Pro a week before.
Months? Yeah, right. Unless you mean the BTO option for the new midrange card (9900 GT) like last time...

Outside of a new video card, it cannot be upgraded until the Gainestown CPU ships and that is anywhere from October onwards at this point.

You should pace yourself by waiting for nehalem, then larrabee, then westmere.

Gainestown should be able to hold most of us over for awhile. :eek:
At least to Larabee, preferably to Sandy Bridge. :)

I wish Apple would hurry up. My dual 2Ghz G5 is showing its age. I can't bring myself to buy a MacPro at this stage in its life-cycle.

Yeah, that is my worry. They are not cheap and as much as I really want one right now I would hate to miss out on not having waited a little while longer.
