What songs do you recommend for stripping? I've got something like Goldfrapp's Train or Strict Machine in mind, any other suggestions?

Thanx,

Easily my favorite thread ever :)

After living with a stripper I can personally recommend:

Aerosmith - Dude (Looks Like A Lady)
AC/DC - What Do You Do For Money
Nine Inch Nails - Terrible Lie
Nine Inch Nails - Suck
Prince - Get Off
Toya - I Do

But in all honesty no music can make up for bad technique.

If you are open enough to start this thread you should be fine.. It is usually just people who are WAY to self conscious and rush through it... no style or finesse.

But as a mac user you should be fine :)

Its all about the tease.

Also.. Rob Zombie has an entire remix album that I would recommend.

Rob Zombie - American Made Music to Strip By

"**** the Pain Away" by Peaches! It was even used in the strip club scene in "Lost in Translation". :D

edit: wow. a bunch of asterisks. Does anyone else find the profanity filter to be exceedingly silly?

This seems a very strange choice, so I must ask... why? The song, to me, is just about the epitome of unsexiness, and exudes none of the playful fun that stripping music really should. Were you being sarcastic?

Enya - Ornico Flow

jk :)

Well, I know nothing about stripping, but I've done quite a bit of acting, and I can tell you that stripping is all about the attitude.

You'll have to adapt yourself to fit the music style. So in all truth, you really could strip quite well to enya.

But I think Missy Elliot would set a good Stripping mood. Especially with a song like Toyz (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=3845472&selectedItemId=3845456).

Or for a faster song, which is also strippable (by Missy): http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=3845472&selectedItemId=3845464 (Fix My Weave)

Hope that Helps :).

Thanx everyone, my friend who I was stripping with and I finally decided on Garbage's Androdyny, not that it mattered much anywayz, the CD player couldn't hook up to the bigger stereo system so above all the cheering and stuff no one could hear the music except for the last couple performances when someone got a larger boombox.

But yeah, I spent like $150 on lingere yesterday for it (ack!) and stripped down to my bra and panties, there was no way I was going any more and I was so uncoordinated that anything else would've looked silly.

Ah well. 'twas fun though.

P.S. I have a picture......maybe.

Well my friend took the picture with her Polaroid and she took that with all the rest of the photos she took that nite with her so if I see her again soon, I may have it.

Not too specular though, I'm fully clothed (from the waist down at least, I was wearing only a bra on top) so its not much too look at, plus with the lipstick I wore I look like a depressed goth chick and the picture itself is rather small so I'm not sure if its worth posting but we'll see....

I'm just hoping the room was well ventilated and you wore protective gloves.

I tend to like to listen to talk radio or Golden Age of Radio comedies while I strip, though I haven't done much stripping lately. If I start in one room, I'll have to do the whole house.

Either of those sound ideal. Also consider Twist, and perhaps Black Cherry itself for a downer.

I'm a Goldfrapp envangelist, and I reckon Alison owes me. I'm just far too shy to ask for payment...

Okay, I cannot believe nobody mentioned...

"You can leave your hat on" by Joe Cocker

Or is everybody too young to remember that particular movie scene?

Heh, the scene of Kim Basinger doing the strip tease into it is burned into my memory. Maybe I just have a thing for blondes then ;)

Orgy has an album called Candy Ass, and about a third of the album is slow and convienient for stripping (I suppose, after seeing one two many episodes of The Sopranos). Here are some (recommended) tracks to search/"check out":

Social Enemies <-- perhaps the best
Fetish
All The Same
Dizzy

Also, there is this one track on Vapor Transmission - Orgy's 2nd album - that works very well. It's called Saving Faces and is also a recommended listen, even though I hate the song to death and more than any of the other tracks on the album. It has a medium/fast pace to it.

When you play even the first track, though, set your mind to thinking well into the future, like a modernized strip club you would find in the city from I, Robot.

Now, on topic....how about "Nice'n'Sleazy" by the Stranglers - they were known to have strippers come on sometimes during that number.....oh yeah!

Daft Punk would be good. Or Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger - I hate Bob Seger, but Risky Business was the ****.
