First of all, the reason I'm not getting an Airport extreme base station, is because I need QoS

So, my SNOW AIRPORT BASESTATION W/ MODEM AND ANTANA SLOT is giving out, and I am looking for a N router with QoS. I have a late '06 iMac (20"), and I want to know if the faster N speeds will work, I do have 2 other macs in the house, but 1 will be wired to the router and the other can be wired to my iMac if need be.

AirPort Card Information for my iMac:

Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x87)
Wireless Card Locale: USA
Wireless Card Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (4.170.13.1)
Current Wireless Network: Apple Network 3131e0
Wireless Channel: 8

The router I'm thinking of, is at:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=565

Will I get the faster N speed, or will I get the speed of the G-compatibility?

If this N won't work, do you know of a fast wireless router with QoS

If your network card won't support N then it will only go the speed it's designed for (ie., B, G, etc)

If it will support N then you should get N speeds.

I don't know what my card supports.

I see. Now, my airport card only is

Wireless Network Adapter (802.11 a/b/g)

I can buy the 1.99 software upgrade from Apple and get N
