What is your favorite free/low cost hosting service?

Hi everyone, I am working on building websites for some local clubs and groups. I am a complete newbie at webdesign, I'm building these sites mainly as a learning experience, and I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good free or low cost hosting service for this kind of site. I will need enough space to be able to add lots of photos, and possibly videos also.
