If I were to purchase a mac under the back to school promotion, would I be able to use the $300 rebate to buy an iPhone? I really hope I can, because I've been wanting one along with a new mac.

well you can get the iPt for free, sell it for $250 or so, use $200 to buy an iPhone and get $50. Everyone wins!
Pretty much. Thats what I plan on doing. I'm just hoping the new macbooks come out before the promotion ends! Sell the 8GB Touch for $250 and go. I already spent $300 on my iPhone.
I can assure you that the new MacBooks will be announced when the promotion is over.
