MacBook Pro logo is a series of stickers???

I recall someone posting about their "k" falling off their Macbook Pro, but couldn't find the thread. What is the deal with the Macbook Pro logo being stickers? Is apple really too cheap to laser the logo on?
 
Yes it's stickers, and no it's easier to laser on, but it doesn't look as good and it definitely wouldn't be shiny.
 
But if you took off the PRO stickers you could photograph the laptop and claim you have an aluminum MacBook.

Ah, excellent point. Perhaps that should be his tactic if he wants to sell it on eBay; he could claim he has an early version of the new MacBook and make a bundle.

You could also PS it off just to see if you could get a crazy price, that way if it didn't sell you wouldn't lose you Proness
