Booting into Windows - Fusion for OSX?

I just recently switched to Mac and have gotten to love the OSX environment and still want to use it, but for professional use I need software not made for it (Autodesk's Revit and AutoCad). Up until now I've been running Windows through Fusion but I may need to begin using Windows with full use of the graphics card again if I begin doing more work in Revit.

Does anyone know if I can boot directly into Windows and use Fusion to run OSX virtually?

Just use BootCamp to install Windows on a separate partition; this will give you the ability to dual-boot. You can boot up in Windows when you want to do your CAD stuff, then boot back into OS X for your regular computing needs.

BootCamp setup is easy and free; you just need a legally licensed copy of Windows XP or Vista.

I agree with kellyl.

Use Boot Camp for CAD. VM will be far too slow. Also, if you have any particular hardware that needs to be used in Windows, Boot Camp is definitely the way to go.

That's sort of what I'm saying, but my question is if I just use Bootcamp to boot into Windows, can I then run OSX virtually using Fusion? The reason would be to get the full use of the graphics card for cad stuff, while being able to still use OSX for most, if not all, other uses.

I am currently doing the opposite (what I think most are doing), I'm booting into OSX and running Windows virtually.

No, there isn't a way. OS X cannot be virtualized.

i like using VM. It runs dam fast. my only problem with it is it wont play some games. But so far windows XP is FAST.

my new obsession is crossover.
