Hi,

I wonder if there does exist a program with which I will be able to upload to frontpage enabled servers. Apparantly frontpage uses their own protocol to connect to the server. Although I design websites for about 8 years I've never encountered this before.

I tried to find a program that can connect to such a server, but the few I found seem to be windows only. I will try to persuade the administrator to open ftp for me, but I'm affraid they're to stubborn.

Hmmm...didn't know that. I thought frontpage extensions were just that, extensions on the server to enable certain content created by frontpage?

Well, as far as I know these server extensions are indeed some extra extensions frontpage does put on the server and using ftp you can (I think) just ignore them.
However frontpage uses also a protocol which I think is called WEC (Web Extender Client), which is (as far as I know) something similar to WebDAV, but still different, to upload the files directly to the server.
