Mac OS 8.5 on IBook G3 900

I would like to install Mac OS 8.5 on my IBook G3 900. Is it possible?

i don't know that it is... i would assume that you would be able to put 9.2 on it...

but... WHY?

You Can't, and why would You want too? the iBook can run X and is more stable on X than 8.5 any day.

Just boot into OS 9. If its a g3 its dual boot capable. Why 8.5?

You can install linux and run 8.5 9 and x all at one without rebooting using maconlinux.

...because an older program that I have to use can't work with Mac OS 8.6 and later... nasty thing!
Maconlinux seems to be a good idea. I'll try it asap.

I had a version of Toast Lite that only worked in OS 8.6 once, but there was also a version for 9.x on the install Cd....
