Upgrading 1.14 to 2.0

I have a 1st gen iphone jailbroken and i want to upgrade to the newest firmware. The main thing ive been hearing is pwn tool but im scared to brick my phone. Can someone please help me to upgrade. Also what does it mean when people say 2g and 3g?

When you upgrade, just hit the restore button and it will wipe the phone, download and install the new software.

2g = original iPhone
3g = new iPhone

You have to restore it to its original unlocked state to upgrade, then you can use whatever tool you want to unlock it after you upgrade.

i have another question, ive heard that the 2.0 unlocked version is a beta version, is it true? and that its very laggy

No. Its the full apple release version.

okay heres the rundown on what im bout to do

-Im going to restore my jailbroken/unlock iphone 1st gen on 1.14
- Then upgrade to 2.0 officially
- then install winpwn since im on windows xp
- using this guide i will unlock the 2.0 version
- pwn?

So is this what im suppose to do? also would i need to use bootloader?

I was on 1.14 Jailbroken and unlocked but when i restored to 1.14 it left me in recovery mode because my sim wasnt valid. I am using a tmobile card. Help me PLEASE!!!!

Follow the Pwnage steps or Winpwn steps which can be found at winpwn.com and iClarified sites to upgrade to 2.0. Problem solved.

There are no guides to 2.0.1 as pwnage hasn't been released for it. Again, all easily discoverable on the first page of "iPhone Hacks".

Either wait till pwnage 2.0.2 or use the one posted at the top of the aforementioned page.

You might as well wait until 2.0.2 as its going to be released sometime today anyway.
