View Full Version : Does the iPhone 3G have a video buffer limit?

I'm having some trouble streaming video over wifi from a website. It seems that if the file is large, the iphone can't buffer the whole video. For example, if a video is 7 minutes long and the file is roughly 50mb (don't ask me why the files are so large) it can't play smoothly because it's buffer limit is too small. It plays the video faster than it can buffer. Also, similar length videos buffer perfectly in Youtube.app and Vsnax.app but I assume the file is compressed better.

So my questions are:

1. Is anyone else experiencing this?

2. Does anyone know the size of the buffer limit on the iphone?

3. Is there a way to increase the amount of memory the iphone uses for buffering video?

Thank you.

Thank you for replying. I figured it did, but still no way to increase the buffer limit?
