View Full Version : Anyway to make Google my homepage with Safari?

I hate the way that Safari always opens to the last page that I had open. Before I close Safari, I usually open a new page, go page to the old page and close then close it. This way, the next time I open Safari, I am greeted with a blank page. Most of the time, I open Safari to Google something. So, like on my home computer, I would like Safari to open Google as the default. I have not found a way to set a Home Page on the iPhone. Can this be done?

Or should I create a Google Bookmark on my home screen and put it in the dock instead of the Safari icon and launch Safari that way?

Safari, Preferences, General, type Google where it says home page.

Safari > Preferences > General…

You can set your Homepage there.

Edit: Ha! Too slow. That'll teach me to stop to dunk a biscuit first. ;)

I think the OP is talking about mobilesafari on his iPhone, not on his mac.

AFAIK, there's no way to do what you want other than your suggestion for a homescreen bookmark.

You can set your google webclip to look exactly like Safari. It would work pretty well.

Tanj in torment, that's the fifth time I've done that... Mobile Safari needs to be more... different... er... than real Safari.

I wish it could be done. I hate opening up Safari always to the last page I visited. Maybe they will change it in 2.1?

Here's to hoping!
