Does the new iDVD work with non Superdrives?

I was thinking of getting an iBook and an exteral firewire recorder sometime down the road.

i'm curious, too. the 'archive' function is really interesting. hopefully iDVD will just plop the DVD into an ISO and then i can use Toast to burn it.

iDVD will work with non-Superdrives, but not in a way that will be useful for you.

According to Apple's page for iLife (http://www.apple.com/ilife/) , you create iDVD projects with a non-SuperDrive, but you need a SuperDrive to burn projects.

Perhaps you could use iDVD with an external DVD burner in conjunction with Toast 6 to produce slick DVDs.
