Did anyone get up to look at the clock this morning? I have to say I did :o:)
If you missed it there is a further chance to see it tonight at, yes you guessed it, 08.08.08pm although for the purists its not the same as it will be 20.08.08 on the 24 hour clock.
I was going to try and post at that time but was too busy staring at my clock to remember.
The Americans/Canadians/South American/Others still have the chance to view it due to timezones.

Remember though that in the US it will be 08/08/08 rather than 08/08/08.

Typical students... Still in your pit at 08:08am :D ...
I was on my way to work. So I spent 08:08:08 08/08/08 listening to Mike Parry on Talksport doing press ups while singing the Chinese National Anthem in English.

It just doesn't look right as 08/08/08 instead of 08/08/08. Silly Americans.

I think you made a typo in the second date, it should be 08/08/08.

How's this for timing...
I clicked in to this thread and started reading it, and only then did I look up at the title bar of my phone and saw the time: 8:08. :D
Too bad I didn't take a screen shot of it. :(

Ugh! You funky UK people and your stupid dates. Just stop it. This is the correct way to simplify August 8, 2008: 08/08/08!

Yep, the 6, 8's!
8th day, 8th month, 8th year, 8th hour, 8th minute and 8th second.
Pretty darn cool!
Next time will be all 9's. :)
I am looking forward to this one:
11/11/11 @ 11:11.11

I was awake for it and staring at the clock, although I didn't realize it was 08.08.08 08/08/08. Sadly I have an injury and haven't really been able to get a decent night's sleep in weeks. So I was staring at the clock wondering why if I am tired why I was still awake. :p Frustrating but at least I know I was able to "accomplish" something.

Well, we can technically continue events like this every year until 12/12/12...which, coincidentally, the world is supposed to end around then anyway (according to the Mayans)....so there will be no point continuing after that.
At least 08/08/08 isn't hellish like 06/06/06 was.
I would just like to ask everyone to do one thing today...
From around 1:55 pm PDT to 2:10 pm PDT...

Aw, that's a shame.
Then you'll also miss 12:34:56 7/8/90 in Europe too!
(you might still make 1:23:45 6/7/89 though, in US and Europe?)

I was up at half 9 so I missed it, and the (fake) evening one too. Meh, there's always all-9's next year, next month, next day, next hour, next minute away.

There was a short article in the Times the other day saying that because the number 8 is deemed luck in China that the registray office has cut the length of a wedding ceremony from 10 minutes to 60 seconds so they can have approximately 16000 weddings. I don't know what was actually achieved.

Yes, and sadly, in spite of their contributions to modern society, superstition still pervades much of their life.
