confused, about first bill. please help.

i may have this completely wrong so please set me straight.

is it

A: first bill with a iphone the cost of 2 months

or

B: first bill with a iphone IF your just switching to AT&T?

because i already have at&t, just wondering. sorry for my stupidity.

First bill with a new at&t plan is retro and forward billed. Then from there after you prepay, each following bill is for the next month plus any extra charges required from the last month.
