So i am TRYING to figure out how to rig up a cheap hands free system for my crappy car until i get a new one.. and i would LIKE to have an external mic that will pick up my voice while i am driving and I came across this thing
Monster Iphone Mic (http://www.partsguysusa.com/m5_view_item.html?m5:item=Monster-123875)

but it also says it has an earphone adapter. My question is, would this work if i just used it without earphones and listened to my callers through my fmtransmitter on my car's speakers??

I found a very simple low tech solution: I nudge my iPhone under the shade pallet with the bottom facing me. The speaker on its own is loud enough to allow this solution to work as a hands free phone.

If you want to use the iPod feature playing through your speakers and have it pause when a call comes in, just get a long phono cable and line it from the pallet, around the windshield and towards your car radio's AUX input.

You'll hear your music and calls' audio through your car speakers and the iPhone's mic will be facing you.

It works great for me.

yea. that ONLY works if you have an aux in on your radio. I do not. I am just looking for a simple solution with an FM transmitter and an enhanced microphone.

So what i REALLY want to know is does this microphone work without attaching the headphones??
