After trying a couple of different cases out for my iPhone (original), I settled on using an Agent 18 case and a screen protector. I've probably been using them for 7 or 8 months and I'm happy with them.

But, I'm working in an extremely dusty environment this summer (rock dust from drilling) and I've found that the case traps a tremendous amount of dust. Cleaning it every day would be a pain, so I'm thinking it may be best to go without a case while I'm at work, unless anyone has any suggestions for a case that will keep the dust out.

Thanks!

Someone a very long time ago posted that he wanted to take his iPod to Iraq. Clearly that would pose issues with all the dust. At the time the only option he appeared to have was an otter box case. It kept out water so it should keep out most of the dust. Dust is interesting in that it can get in just about anything so you'll still have to deal with it. The Agent 18 is great, as you said, but it traps dust and for me it has scratched nearly every device I've used it on due to the entrapment of dust.

Nowadays I believe you have a second option which would be an invisible shield. There are a few companies that make the clear skin for the iPhone, people seem to be all over the map as to which one is best.

The cheapest route....ziploc. :)

After I saw my friend take his Iphone out of his agent 18 case to clean only after a 2 wee period, and chrome and back looked like someone took a fork to it.
