Im looking into getting a new hard drive for my 1.6 G5,

i plan on using it as the primary OS/App drive

my choices

Western Digital 36Gig Raptor 10,000rpm SATA

or

Westen Digital 120Gig, 7200 RPm, 8mb cache SATA

the current 80 gig drive will be used as the secondary

im not sure what i need more speed or storage

It boils down to:

If you have less than 30% free disk space, then get more storage.

If you have ample free disk space and have cash to burn, then get a raptor.

But my money would be to just save the money if you have lots of free space and things are already fast... which in this case a G5 machine is.
