I successfully updated my 1st gen iPhone with Pwnage Tool 2.0.2. I selected the full pwnage package of unlocked, jail broken and activated.
All went well and I am now enjoying my iPhone completely updated to Apple's 2.0.1 uodate. I am a T-Mobile guy and the phone is currently on T-Mobile.
Is there any technical reason that someone else who also wanted the whole pwnage package could not simply use the custom restore file I created, bypassing all the creating hoopla?
I'd email the file to someone who would like to try it.

It's called "copyright infringement" and you would be committing it by sending it to people without Apple's permission, which you would definitely never get.

Yes, this is why the Pwnage team makes you download your own in the first place... I actually just finally upgraded to 2.0.1 from 1.1.4 today, also on T-Mobile, going from a ZiPhone unlocked 1.1.4 to a Pwnd 2.0.1 using Pwnage Tool 2.0.2... it took a couple of hours altogether, but it was not bad at all. My first ipsw for some reason was not usable, though (what happens sometimes is Pwnage will sometimes generate an IPSW that seems fine, but when iTunes tries to install it, the phone resets and loops back into DFU instead of booting successfully). The second one worked fine, and I didn't even have any issues with restoring the previous contents (SMS, notes, etc) from backup, save that I made some ringtones on the phone using Jamendo, and the way that worked, they never got sync'd back to iTunes and so I had to replace them (but now my ringtones are actually in iTunes which should remove this issue in the future).
Anyway, sorry, please don't use MR as a means to distribute your IPSW. It's a nice thought, but it is illegal and it attracts the wrong attention to us.
